Togo, like many other countries around the world, has been affected by the coronavirus pandemic, which has had a significant impact on both the population's health and the country's economic and social life. Global forecasts for the pre-Covid-19 period have been challenged, and economies have been severely affected.
We see these global upheavals as opportunities to continue our march towards economic progress for the great benefit of our populations.
Indeed, in recent years, Togo has made major growth efforts thanks to a strong ambition for reforms and a constantly improving business climate. To accelerate this momentum, a government roadmap for the period 2020-2025 has been put in place and confirms the ambition for greater inclusion and economic growth through job and wealth creation, and a modern and digitalized state that meets the needs of the population. This strategy also takes into account our objective of ensuring a clear and effective response to security challenges, in order to guarantee a healthy climate for the development of economic business.
In Togo, you will find a country determined to move forward regardless of the challenges it faces. I cite as proof the Ad\u00e9tikop\u00e9 Industrial Platform dedicated to the creation of thriving industrial value chains for storage, processing, manufacturing, and export; the Kekeli thermal power plant and the Blitta solar power plant, which were inaugurated in the midst of the pandemic. Thus, the commitment to economic transformation and private investment is constant, permanent, and concrete.
<\/span>We will remain committed to supporting you in the efforts being made to improve the macroeconomic framework and the business climate.
